In the Christian tradition, Lent is a 40 day season of self-examination and repentance before the celebration of Easter. At Living Christ Sangha we seek to become more diligent in our practice during Lent by observing it as an abbreviated period of ango.
Advent is a season of expectation and waiting in which we are urge to “keep awake.” Ango is a Japanese Zen term that literally means “dwelling in peace.” Ango periods are times that we intensify our practice in order to cultivate awakening.
